T*S*E Rant ~ Rant on Retail

Welcome back, folks!
This week’s “Off the ‘Spice’ Rack” is on the fly; no notes and no pre-discussions on the outside…. I must warn you though, I thoughts tend to wander but I’ll TRY to keep in check.

Last week, after I got my evaluation at work {yeah, they still have those}; I thought a lot about who REALLY had my back in life.
People say that you can always rely on family, but after what happened while my father was ill until his death; the ONLY thing most of his brothers and sisters were doing was asking for their cut from the property left over.
For more details on that, I’ll be writing a book about it.
Anyway, I like to talk about how to be choosy who you let into your lives, cuz family you’re stuck with.

First, there are your school friends….and for those who are about to head off for the Spring semester better take this to heart.
There are always gonna be cliques as well as wannabe players and ‘ratchets’, there is no easy way to prevent fake friendships but you can spot them early on. One thing I had found out quick is that everyone uses someone else to get what they want.

When hanging out with new people, observe how they treat others around them including your ‘friends’. Do they ask for favors often but don’t do the same for anyone else? Do they laugh at jokes that are hurtful to others? Or do they spread rumors and try to deny it to the person involved?
Sadly, we have that kind of toxic people who love to start drama for one reason or another; why should you be their amusement?
There are other ways to spot them, but this is good enough for now.
Use your judgment.

Next is if you’re lucky in finding a job but not so lucky with your co-workers.
Let me tell you here and now that folks are always trying to kiss ass or out-do you in some way to get that promotion. Competition can be fierce when you’re young but as Adults, no one’s afraid to stab anyone in the back if it means they get ahead.

To keep out of those sticky situations, keep your mouth shut and your personal opinions to yourself. I found out the hard way that speaking about one’s ideas on improving company production, there’s a lap dog of the workplace running straight to management. Another co-worker of mine, who had ambitions and high hopes for one of the Supervisor positions had it stolen by the current Kids Supervisor due to her being “chummy” {a nicer word for it} with the Store Manager.
Also, I want to mention that it IS okay to have friends at work, but again just be wary —- especially if you plan on dating any of them.

Another good tidbit to learn is learn your neighborhood and the people you’re around, mainly due to if you have or planning to start a family. Many crimes happen to children and most of it is due to someone the parents trusted. My Ma and Nana were both victims of the same circumstances.

Then you have the ‘busybodies’ that want to know EVERY thing of your life cuz they don’t have one of their own; try as you might, they won’t go away when they get tired of their Soaps. So, my advice is to shut them down quick before they can get ahold of you.
Say you have an errand that can’t wait or you have to pick up the kids from daycare —- anything before they bother you for that ‘cup of sugar’ ;)

With that note, “Off the ‘Spice’ Rack” will be back next Tuesday.
Don’t forget to read Frankie D’s new post coming up soon.

Til then, keep it ‘Spicy’ all week!

T*S*E Rant ~ Collage pt. 2

Welcome to “Off the ‘Spice’ Rack….” with Cheetahkit :D

…..before it was just called Tuesday’s Discussions, but y’know with the move, new name and all; it seems like a good opportunity.

This week, we’re gonna double back to retail; so brace yourself again for a LONG debate——

We’ve already touched on the subject of our jobs and how they can piss us off however it’s worth repeating again for these situations. I mean, we all have asshole bosses and we think we can do their jobs SO much better than them; but as I plan to have my own business in the future —- the mindset has shifted….but that doesn’t mean that some decisions made are done with “intelligence” as the case at my job when three (3) supervisor positions opened up.
One of those I had applied for and was passed because according to them, I was “insufficient” in other areas of the store. Apparently, they forgot that a person can do anything asked if they were in those areas more often. In a certain part of the building, I hadn’t worked there since winter of last year; so of course my skills are limited.

My point is this, I may not have gotten that position but that’s not why I’m still going on about it. The situation was that an employee, who does nothing but complain about the task given and also doesn’t help others with their sections yet whines when she herself doesn’t get help; is now one of the new supervisors.
Either she gives good blow jobs or something else is going on.

Many of our capable workers that were not even acknowledged in their efforts have quit because people like this “child” reap the benefits by kissing ass and taking her co-worker’s hours plus claiming their achievements as her idea {we also have another boss who does that as well}. One of the most annoying things in ANY job is being overlooked when one busts their ass as representatives of a business and only handed a cookie once in a blue moon.
Here are some more “Class Acts” on the subject.

Let’s start with~
Retailers Track Employee Thefts in Vast Databases [Article]

Not only does this cause problems for corporate, it affects us as well. Bad enough violence ensues due to dumb shit like one ass ate someone else’s lunch {true story, no BS} or one member of a certain race setting the rest of us back cuz they don’t wanna work {you know the one….}; this is another worry that effects EVERYONE in some way —- most is from the decrease of our pay.
Case in point, keeping tabs on ANY misdemeanors and broken laws —- already had eight people steal from my job that, in my opinion wasn’t worth the $100 pieces of jewelry. In the long run, these kids will have this shit on their record; guaranteeing they will have difficulty getting any employment if at all.
And THIS is why we all suffer!
How?
If you look in the minority in regards to race as I had stated, anyone in relation it them in ANY way, we’re automatically dubbed as thieves and no longer trustworthy. Then there’s the “children” we gave the responsibility to learn about the real world.
Blame the older generation for not doing ‘background checks’ to the 4th grade.

Moving on~
Why You Can’t Fire Employees for Complaining On Facebook [Article]

The gist of this was that everyone has their own opinion about another person’s work-ethnics {or lack thereof} and are ALLOWED to express it on social networks like Twitter, FB, LinkedIn, Google+ and so on as stated in the National Labor Relations Act and backed up by the National Labor Relations Board. What pissed me off about this is that so-called ‘protection’ from being fired will only work in your favor —— if you have X amount of people posting their own comments about the subject {must be positive} as well as “like” the post.

I was called to my boss’ office with one of his second-in-command flunkies for comments exchanged by me and another co-worker about his “intelligence” and if he had bothered to use his ears {other than frame his face}, he would take the advice from people who DO see what’s happening on a regular basis.

No, we weren’t fired {believe me….you would know it} but the other co-worker was trying to sweet-talk her way out of the situation by explaining our actions; she should have realized that you can’t reason with an Adult running on the mentality of a toddler.
And on the dime, he throws a tantrum saying what he has done for the staff {cooked ONCE and he should be branded as a national hero in our eyes *pfft*} then tells my co-worker to improve her attitude like he didn’t just verbally wail on her for a good 20mins.

My point as I had stated before is EVERYONE talks about EVERYONE!
He’s the damn boss and he’s thin-skinned if he can’t take constructed criticism. I guarantee that about a third of the people I work with talk about me {good AND bad} but as quoted by Nicki Minaj, I “don’t’ give two shits”.

Another incident involving the web~
TV reporter fired over blog ‘didn’t think it would come to this’ [Article/Video]

Shea Allen, an evening news fixture of ABC affiliate WAAY in Huntsville, Alabama decided to lay down her love for her job and the employees, boss and a bunch of other crap she had to get off her chest.
Her methods were that of YT and a personal blog.
Miss Allen had quoted that she was being “snarky and funny” and “didn’t think it would come to this”.
That is B — S!!
She knew good and well what she was doing, don’t hand me that!
Why would you say that you’re:

“frightened of old people and refuses to do stories involving them”,

“best sources have a secret crush on her”,

“gone without a bra during a live report — and no one noticed.”

And plus uploading a video with the contents on her admitting on ‘time-stealing’ THEN put it on the web that a least 300,000,000 people will come across in some way.

.….yeah.

And the last douche in the work force~
She was fired for being ‘irresistible’ [Video]

You read it right.
This woman was the best in her field but was dismissed from her job because she “supposedly” was threatening her boss’ personal life just by being there. I think that the ‘good dentist’ got spurned by her and couldn’t handle it.

She did take it to court in case you’re wondering —- with very little result since the court favored the dentist. Don’t get me started on it, if you want to see it for yourself; here’s the link:

T*S*E Rant ~ Animals Gone Wild!

Hey there, Fans!
As crazy as this week has been {I’m sure for ALL of us}, we need a good laugh here.
So this topic coming “Off the Spice Rack” is dubbed …..Animals Gone Wild!
No —— no one’s died by them or am I gonna post photo-shopped pics of cats and dogs cross-dressing.
However, these furry creatures have been caught in weird situations that gave more than one heart attack to the humans involved.

To begin~
Mont. man learns lessons after dog dines on $500 [Article]

How it went was that the family Golden Retriever apparently was pissed at the head of the household for leaving him in the backseat of the car {granted it was only for a few minutes – no ‘animal cruelty’ here}. Due to a mistake, the wallet was left with the dog containing some ‘delicious lettuce’ for the hound to chow down on.
And that’s not all the madness….
the actual total in it was $501; five $100 bills and a dollar. Why the pup chose to leave that dollar alone is still unknown.

Continuing with “man’s best friend”~
Dog Nearly Derails Tour De France Riders [Article/Video]

Looks like the age old event is cursed.
This incident is the most recent out of the countless accidents that’s been happening during the race; including a bus breaking down in front of the finish line causing a domino effect not seen since the Kentucky Derby horse race and another dog that got in a way of one of the cyclists which almost cost the rider a victory in 2007.
However, this dog-to-rider ratio didn’t end in disaster.
The furry fiend got away in time :D

Next up~
Kan. woman meets circus tiger in bathroom [Article]

Ok, isn’t it scary enough that we have to go in a public restroom that looks like they don’t clean it until the end of the month, see how the last person keeps their bathrooms by what’s left on the seats plus deal with the fact there’s NO seat covers —— do we REALLY need to have a surprise guest on top of that?
When this unsuspecting person walked into the ladies’ room, the last thing she wanted to worry about {other than the growing bacteria on the toilets} is a giant cat that can kill her if she breathes wrong.
…..luckily for her, the tiger was in a mellow mood; maybe it ate before it left the cage that wasn’t locked properly by the assistant Zoo keeper.

Now to end my discussion this week, the last one’s starring a group of kids, who obviously haven’t seen “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”.
Here’s the link you have to see to believe~

Join us on Thursday for “Being Real” whether it’s more rules from the dating book or something new entirely.
You’ll just have to show up to find out which ;)

Keep it spicy this week!

T*S*E Rant ~ Dumping Spouses through today's Technology

This discussion’s gonna be a little short and yeah, I know we already covered this subject on how some men/women are asses ---- but these I couldn’t ignore once I spotted them.
I also know that this news is pretty old; however, my original topic is now a mixed issue.

Before we start up this segment, the DL on this is the fact that most of us take the coward’s way out in regards to messy situations {like getting fired by telephone ---- no, I won’t let that shit go to this very day}. Here are two (2) stories I think you fans should take to heart NOT to do the next time you want out of a relationship~

Real Housewives’ Star’s Divorce Debacle on Twitter [Article/Video]

THIS is the fucked up world we live in --- this dude was so scared of his newly ex’s reaction, he can’t even do it in person!
It’s exactly like getting dumped via text message, email or ‘snail mail’ {not that anyone writes others using pen and paper, I think I’m one of the few that not only does but can do cursive; which is rare too}.
Apparently, Miss Porsha Stewart [hope she x’s the last name sometime soon] got the “bad news” from not only that site, but her sister; who had first read it.
….It gets better.
Like a true MF, the dude was IN THE OTHER ROOM in the same house when she had gotten the news.
Looks like the NFL dud can’t handle oppositions and confrontation; I’d know what I would’ve done if I got sucker punched like that and had found out from a relative…..although, Porsha’s solution is satisfactory; she should’ve done A LOT more.

And speaking of divorce, this one’s gonna have you rethink on calling outside help~

Pennsylvanian woman cited for calling 911 seeking divorce [Article]

Oh, yeah. Here’s a REAL winner.
Because your husband of some-odd-years disagrees with you on something, you go and call the cops on an assault charge --- at least, that’s what I’m assuming seeing as how quick they got there.
I mean, how fucking dumb are you to ask for a separation by calling an emergency number?
What was she on when she thought of this!
Not much to say on this except to keep her on her meds till she stops seeing red over a stupid argument.

I know that sometimes couples don’t see eye to eye and it can be frustrating with a dash of murderous intent, but there are ways to end it that don’t involve playing the game “telephone” or hearing from another party. I personally don’t like people being up in my business ---- especially if it’s between my man and me.
Also, why bring the drama to something that’s already dead?

Dating = Freedom
Why?
Because if you think about it, it’s easier to call it quits and move one this way w/o the legal paperwork. That’s why I’m still taking my time. To other’s I’m either a prude {for those who don’t know or don’t care to know me} or extremely cautious. Due to upbringing and terrifying experiences that my Ma and Nana went through as children, it might take a while.
So for those who think with their “clocks” or the pressure from family and friends; if you want that dream of a life-long commitment, WAIT!

Last reminder, fans!
This Thursday, Being Real is bumped to next week for this month’s Fashion Tip,
“WTF?!” will go on as scheduled,
And proceedings of our merchandise are underway since reaching our goal of 3,000 “likes”.

Nothing will be revealed as of yet, so you still have time for requests.
So far we’re at Hats, Key chains and Pens. What do you wanna see?

See you on Thursday!

T*S*E Rant ~ You became an 'Adult' when....

Before we begin this week, I want to end my “Morals” topic with the reason why —— even though I have been asked to discuss the George Zimmerman issue —— I am NOT gonna do it.
I understand that this is a hot topic amongst us and how the final verdict has got us all….antsy, but I can’t get involved {at least right now while the heat’s on}. Before starting K.I.R., I created ground rules that I would never discuss more than a couple of lines which I like to call RPR~

Religion—-
Since they’re so many different beliefs out there, there really isn’t a ‘right’ one.
Besides, I can go on about how I REALLY feel about the Bible and I’d have the Jesus jokers jumping down my neck.

Politics—-
The long and the short of it: they ALL lie!
It’s a blown out popularity contest between candidates that spout off promises and then flip the script once they get in the oval office.
It’d be nice if they gave SOMETHING to pacify us as to WHY they can’t keep their word.
They owe us THAT much.

Racism—-
I’m African-American i.e. BLACK, by that right; there wouldn’t be a SINGLE thing that comes out of my mouth that people will automatically think I’m gonna side with my race no matter what. Plus what I REALLY wanna say about my ‘brothers and sisters’ will make me a supposed traitor.

There it is, in a nutshell.
From the backlash I’m getting on WTOP, Zimmerman’s WHITE plus stalked and killed a BLACK child. I feel for both parties involved, but since this is another ‘divider’ of our great nation; I’m gonna let this problem resolve itself.

Going back to the last bit of ‘Morals’; on the real here~
While writing both parts and strolling down memory lane of my late father, I remembered something tangible {at least for me} about an unanswered question in the movie “Courageous”.
If you haven’t heard of it before now, I’m not giving it away here; get your ass down to a RedBox and rent it yourself. I WILL tell you that it’s from the writer of “Fireproof” and just as inspirational since this movie involves relations in close-knit families and not just madrigal issues {and before you claim otherwise, telling you the SYNOPSIS does not qualify as ‘giving it away’! I didn’t mention ALL the turn points or how many stories are rolled into it; but I think it’s pretty obvious how many there are once you see the DVD cover ;)}

I’m saying this one from the movie cuz it’s the damn topic.

There’s an incident where one of the characters has felt he has lost his worth as a parent to his children, so as he was chilling with his buds; he asks the question:

“What made you feel that you were officially classified as an ‘Adult’?”

Right away, they tick off what THEY saw as a rite of passage {owning a car, the day you lost your virginity, when you turned 18, had got your first apartment, ‘when my father told me I was’}; granted, only one sounded real insightful but it got me to think about when I thought I was.
Some go through life not really dwelling on it at all —— others use it as a foundation for raising the children.

Everyone has their own views on when they feel like they’re ready to take the responsibility as shown in different cultures~

Japanese believe that proof of Adulthood can happen at the age of 16 when they can give blood. Also, in ancient times; a rite of passage was decided by either the head of the family deeming the child into society by birthright or sometimes by the Elder of the village, but most of the time it was about what the young ones had learned and how they handled new challenges given.
Nowadays, some families keep up the tradition of passing a symbol or an object to loved ones or share information needed to know. My family saw fit to pass on information to me at a late age {25}, they never felt I was ready to know about the secrets that shouldn’t be repeated {….and I don’t intend to :P }.
What’s more important —- is what YOU feel classifies yourself as an Adult.

Mine currently is unfulfilled right now as when I felt like I would become one by paying my own bills with no aid. With this economy and only having one part-time job, I’m basically living back in a dorm room with a copy of the key; I AM paying some bills that I can afford plus the groceries but any bill over $60, my Ma pays for {thank GOD there’s only 3 of them}.

That’s my take on ‘being an Adult’ in today’s society…..
What’s yours?

Next week, Frankie D will be taking a break for my Tips. Don’t skip out on it now ;)

ALWAYS keep it real!

T*S*E Rant ~ Morals pt. 2

Hope you had a good weekend.
Enjoy part 2 of ‘Morals’ ——
If you don’t remember what happened last Tuesday, here’s the link:
http://cheetahkitandfrankied.blogspot.com/2013/07/morals-pt-1.html

I had mentioned a week ago that today’s generation got a bum rap by being verbally attacked and then ignored when we try to defend ourselves.
Well, let’s reexamine the evidence from where we left off~

CNN has done ‘research’ about the internet and how one reverts back to pre-teen adolescence {as suggested by the title chosen “It’s like never leaving Junior High”}, having evidence backing up his claim.

Here’s some key points from it~
“Janet Sternberg, a communications professor at Fordham University, says ‘the Internet and digital media have produced this ‘Peter Pan effect’ where we never grow up, we’re perpetual children, we never have to be responsible for anything — we keep this juvenile mentality’; ‘Restraint is one of the signs of adulthood, and our whole culture is celebrating a lack of restraint’….”

“….the Web has a clique for every would-be adolescent — class clowns, bullies, drama queens and fanboys; get to indulge in their petty squabbles, and few of them show signs of growing up….”
“Sternberg final statement is that ‘the idea that being an adult is prized in our culture — that idea is evaporating, it’s really uncool’….”

I also found another article that CNN did on advertising; this one was about an uproar in regards to a Victoria’s Secret ad targeted for the teenagers and pre-teens {now known today as ’tweens}~
“The popular lingerie brand was advertising items in its PINK line, which is geared toward younger women, with the slogan “Bright Young Things." The campaign featured underwear printed with phrases like “call me," “feeling lucky" and “wild." A 16-second YouTube video featured young-looking models splashing around in skimpy bikinis with the tagline “new spring break must-haves….”

“Diana Cherry, a mother of three and creator of a petition against this issue stated that it was ‘a glaring example of a culture forcing girls to grow up too fast’…."

“Commenters on the Victoria Secret Facebook page said the campaign was ‘disgusting’ and ‘sexually [exploited] teenagers’ —- many called on shoppers to boycott stores…..”

And now, the rebuttal ——starting with Miss Janet Sternberg’s commentary~

It’s true that we “down-grade” ourselves when we’re online {see Cyber Blood Bath #1-2}, I suspect it’s because we don’t know who’s on the other end and probably never will; so we talk smack with little to no repercussions. But in regards to her statement, I’m not sure using today’s youth as analogies makes any sense.
I have seen first-hand around me that most of our pre-teens are in the rebellious stage, yes; but still have a good head on their shoulders by thinking through before acting.
Verbal is another story.
Even though most have not heard the fine art of ‘tact’, the internet is one of the few places to communicate thoughts and stay in touch; mainly cuz no one actually REMEMBERS writing ‘snail mail’ or even bother doing that unless it’s a class project called Pen Pals.

As for the lingerie ‘mishap’~

I say again, kids are not to blame for the entirety of this supposed digression.
Let’s flip the script here —— WHO made this ad and countless others that drill the phrase ‘sex sells’ into our subconscious? WHO created the outfits that most of us look upon as ‘unique’?

Remember, the current generation’s powerless until we get that piece of paper after torcher from High School and again in College for x amount of years. It’s because companies have stooped to a level that causes the kids to think like sex-crazed maniacs be it on TV, internet or magazine.
Growing up, stuff like that wasn’t plastered on commercials often and if they were; they were on channels made for the adults of my time. The only thing my parents were concerned about was if my cartoons were too violent or showed too much racism {amongst OTHER things that happened to them at a young age —— again, a personal matter}. Sadly, “boycotting” is not gonna solve anything now cuz as a society, we’re too far gone. We are so used to finding bikinis and men with nothing on but a pair of boxer briefs shown on billboards and such; it’s become the norm.
The only way we can get out of it is to make a new motto like ‘COMEDY sells’ or something like that. I mean down-home loving gets many in the mood, but then why do we have so many Action and Horror movies?

A final thought on this subject…..if the new age parents take a good look at what their kids are buying, my Fashion blog, “WTF?!” and countless others would not exist {make no mistake that K.I.R. would continue ;) }; but then, they probably don’t care due to their treatment from the past generation in some way.

Next week, I will continue by asking you, the fans; your take on this matter since no one bothers to comment.
Also, with the craziness going on in her life between her new man and her family; Frankie D won’t be updating for a while. So, now you have to deal with me until she gives me a sign.

ALWAYS keep it real!

T*S*E Rant ~ Morals pt. 1

Here’s a subject for ‘Generation Y’——
Starting with the buzz on one Edward Snowden.

Don’t know who he is?
That’s alright, cuz your girl Cheetah’s got you ;)

Long story short, Snowden revealed information about a variety of classified intelligence programs, including the interception of US and European telephone metadata and some internet surveillance programs.
To dumb it down for those of us who aren’t Tech Term savvy {i.e. Me ;) }, these new programs are to basically eavesdrop on what we do and say to other people that most would agree —— are private to those involved like personal conversations and such.

When asked, Snowden said that he did what he did so that “the public can be informed as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them,” {My translation: where our tax money is going during this economy crisis and what we classify as ‘valuable info’ to the Average Joe is apparently statistics for our government}.
He continues by saying “I don’t want to live in a society that does these sort of things … I do not want to live in a world where everything I do and say is recorded. That is not something I am willing to support or live under".
There are lots about him as a person that I found fascinating, but since I only have the maximum of three (3) pages; I can’t disclosed them all; to find out more, type in his name in your fave search engine. I will say this though, this guy’s one lucky SOB to get this job considering he has no High School Diploma.

The dude is now on the run to different countries that would welcome any chance to learn more about North America —— last I heard he was residing in Russia with a prank attached to it as he sent some journalists on a 12-hr flight to Havana with no alcohol due to the airline’s policy, to a destination he never planned on showing up to and they can’t leave the country for 3 days because of their laws {serves them right; bunch of parasites :P }…..bottom line, the rave about it is that because he gave away classified information, he is either seen as a ‘Traitor’ to some and a ‘Hero’ to most.

Overall on the Snowden subject; NSA is now currently being questioned on good judgment.

The main reason why this topic was called to my attention was the “stink” carried off from the comments made by most of society. They CLAIM that our children have no sense of responsibility or morals like knowing right from wrong.

…WTSF!

They are saying in between the lines that it’s OUR fault that US of A is in financial ruin, that we’re shooting out babies at a young age so we can get the government to bail us out; that we have no ‘work ethnic’ and don’t believe we never will and that we are disrespectful to those that came before us.
I’ve heard some BS before, but this goes beyond it! Now, I’m not saying that it doesn’t exist in some teens today; but they gotta realize that this shit didn’t just show up out of the blue —— it had to have come from somewhere!
They LIKE to think that we taught ourselves this stuff; in truth the current generation has NO power for change.

Let me sum it up for the people who actually AGREE with the statements that Generation Y are made up of sponges that create MORE problems~
MOST of what they said is the end result of what we learn from ADULTS from birth to pre-teen.
Think about it: Racism, Religion, Criticism….most of that comes from the home life we live in.
From the womb to we head off to school, we’re taught what’s “acceptable” in the real world; depending on WHO we learn it from, it’s skewed to the point that we have to fill in the blanks from the rest of society {TV programs, other ‘experienced’ kids, the internet, etc}.
Now take a look at the contents of what we have as our “role models” —— you’re telling me that we’re responsible for that as well?

I’m gonna let the topic sink in for the rest of this week.
Part 2 will consist of more + go in depth on the influences of the internet AND show what exactly they are advertising.
Don’t forget to come back for Frankie’s Being Real: Sex, Lies and Drama update.
Keep it real, fans :)
